The Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF) conclave was recently organized by the Department of Horticulture at MGSIPA, Sector 26, Chandigarh.
The primary objective of the event was to highlight the progress achieved by the state of Punjab during the previous financial year (2022-23) and acknowledge the efforts of both the government and private sector stakeholders in promoting the AIF scheme in the state.
During the last financial year, Punjab witnessed substantial advancements under the AIF scheme. The state managed to attract investments exceeding Rs 2,877 crore for a total of 3,480 projects. Additionally, loans amounting to Rs 720 crore were sanctioned, out of which Rs 591 crore has already been disbursed by various lending institutions, said the Minister for Horticulture, Chetan Singh Jouramajra.
Recent data reveals that Punjab has received more than 5,500 applications through the AIF portal, resulting in investments totaling Rs 3,300 crore. These figures indicate the significant interest and involvement of stakeholders in the agricultural sector.
The Minister expressed satisfaction with the progress made by Punjab under the AIF scheme. The substantial investments and sanctioned loans demonstrate the positive response received from both public and private entities towards supporting the state's agricultural infrastructure development.
The AIF conclave served as a platform to share these achievements and recognize the contributions made by all stakeholders.
It highlights Punjab's commitment to enhancing agricultural infrastructure and promoting sustainable growth in the sector, ultimately benefiting farmers and ensuring the overall development of the state's agricultural landscape.
