Amidst all the farmer’s protest against the three Farm laws that’s going on across the nation, Mamata Banerjee, West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief, has plunged into poll preparations for the upcoming elections to the State Assembly scheduled for 2021.
Over the past two days, Mamata has made a series of announcements about governance-related initiatives, as her party is preparing to pursue a third consecutive term in state administration.
The launch of Mamata Banerjee's 2021 campaign began on Wednesday with the announcement of a cashless home insurance policy for all and mending the public sentiments with the inclusion of two Nobel Prize winners in her programme and the entire campaign also included the commemoration of Subhas Chandra Bose.
On Thursday, the state government reached out the residents, and announced up to Rs 5 lakh of cashless treatment in private hospitals per household, the major benefits of the Swastha Sathi state health insurance scheme.
This advantage is now applicable to all Bengali families that includes the farming community as well.
Anyone not insured can easily take advantage of it. In either case, care is free in the government hospitals. This card is valid at approximately 1,500 private health facilities. They had earlier intended to carry 7.5, but are now extending it to 10, said Mamata.
Around 1.5 crore people were covered under Ayushman Bharat Yojana whereas under the state government’s Swastha Sathi 10 crore people are covered. The cardholder also has to make a donation for Ayushman Bharat. But here the card holder does not have to contribute for the card, he said that the scheme would cost the State exchange officer Rs 2,000 crore altogether. The parents of married women will benefit from this cashless insurance with a woman in the family as the card holder, said Mamta Banerjee.
The Government began a "government at your door" program from December, which will take place in every community development block and municipal towns where the people will have the name of their heads of their families.
This scheme would be very helpful to the farmers of the state especially during this difficult time. Farmers as well the rural community will be benefited from this government scheme.
