Dr BR Ambedkar University is implementing 10 percent reservation for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) students. It has reopened its registration portal for those belonging to the category, as per the varsity. Though, forms for admission to undergraduate courses went live from May 3, and forms for admission to postgraduate courses went live from May 2.
The last date for registration was June 24, 2019. The university, was established by the Delhi government, and has reopened its registration portal only for students belonging to the EWS category so as to implement the 10 percent quota. The portal is reopened for economically weaker students for admission into undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
It is to be noted that, the university is implementing the reservation in a phased manner. In academic session 2019-20, 10 percent reservation will be implemented and 15 percent reservation will be implemented in the next academic session, mentioned by the university in a statement.
Candidates from EWS category who have already applied are advised not to apply again. But, they need to upload relevant documents for the category, as per the statement.
The Human Resource Development Ministry had stated that it will implement 10 percent reservation for economically weaker sections from the general category from the 2019 academic session. Adding to this information, it had directed to increase around 25 percent seats in higher educational institutions and universities across the country.
