The Aadhaar card holds significant importance for Indian citizens, and its loss can impede various essential tasks. To address this issue, the Unique Identification Authority of India, responsible for Aadhaar issuance, has enabled citizens to order PVC Aadhaar cards online for a nominal fee of Rs. 50.
These cards are constructed from Polyvinyl Chloride and contain crucial information such as a secure QR code, hologram, name, photo, date of birth, and other relevant details. The process of acquiring a PVC Aadhaar card is simple and can be accomplished by visiting the official UIDAI website.
To order a PVC Aadhaar card, follow these steps:
-
Visit uidai.gov.in and select the "My Aadhaar" option.
-
Click on "Order Aadhaar PVC Card."
-
Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number and security code.
-
An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number, which must be entered on the website.
-
Preview the PVC Aadhaar card, and make a payment of Rs. 50 through net banking, credit or debit card, and submit the request.
-
The PVC card will be dispatched to the applicant's address via speed post.
Individuals who prefer to apply offline can visit the nearest Aadhaar centre, fill out a form, and pay a fee of Rs. 50. The card will arrive at their address within five to six days.
It is important to note that without an Aadhaar card, individuals will not be eligible for various government schemes, admission to schools or colleges, travel, and several financial transactions, including opening a bank account. Therefore, it is crucial to keep the Aadhaar card safe or order a PVC Aadhaar card in case of loss.
