On his 2-day tour to India, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz was spotted sipping tea at a street corner in Delhi on Sunday. The German Embassy in India claimed in a tweet that they brought Scholz to their preferred tea shop in Chanakyapuri and included images of him savouring a 'delicious cup of chai'.

“How can you experience India without a delicious cup of Chai? We took Bundeskanzler Olaf Scholz to our favourite tea shop on a street corner in Chanakyapuri. You should all go! A true taste of India," the embassy wrote in its tweet.

The images were well-liked by Twitter users, who left a range of comments. "India and Indians admire this gesture from Germany", one user commented, while other said, "Let's develop jointly. Both nations are looking for a successful partnership."

"Outstanding! I hope the Chancellor had some delicious Indian chai! Kindly let him sample filter coffee from South India as well", another added.

The Chancellor also went to Bengaluru's M Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium where he talked to both the team's male and female players. For roughly 15 minutes, Mr. Scholz spoke with representatives from the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), as well as the men's and women's RCB teams.

Notably, Mr. Scholz travelled to India for the first time on February 25, more than a year after taking over the chief position. At the Rashtrapati Bhavan, where the German leader was given a formal greeting, PM Modi met with Chancellor Scholz. He also gave the German president a 'Meghalaya Stole' and a 'Nagaland Shawl'.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and German Chancellor conducted extensive discussions, with a focus on strengthening bilateral ties in the areas of clean energy, trade, and new technologies.
