The Food Corporation of India (FCI) has announced the successful conclusion of its Special Campaign 2.0 for Disposal of Pending Matters, a drive aimed at improving efficiency and cleanliness across its numerous facilities. From October 2022 to August 2023, the FCI executed this campaign at 760 sites, achieving remarkable results.

One of the standout accomplishments of the campaign is the generation of Rs. 30 lakhs through the proceeds of scrap disposal. Additionally, the FCI managed to weed out approximately 3 lakh old files, creating more than 50,000 sq. ft of additional space for its operations. These achievements underscore the commitment of FCI to streamline its operations and promote cleanliness in its premises.

The Special Campaign 2.0 was initiated with the primary goal of enhancing efficiency within the ministries and departments. By addressing pending matters and emphasizing Swachhata (cleanliness), FCI aimed to bolster its capabilities to ensure high-quality food grains reach beneficiaries across the nation. The cleanliness drive was instrumental in improving the upkeep of FCI godowns and operations.

Innovative measures were adopted during the campaign to improve operations. A comprehensive record management system was introduced, and digitization efforts were intensified. These measures, combined with optimal space utilization, led to a more streamlined and efficient operation within FCI.

The campaign's reach was extensive, covering all FCI premises, including the Headquarter, Zonal Offices, Regional Offices, District/Divisional Offices, Depots, Warehouses, and other centers across the country.

FCI plays a crucial role in maintaining food security in India by procuring wheat and paddy from farmers at Minimum Support Price (MSP) and distributing these grains through a vast network of Fair Price Shops in 28 states and 8 union territories. The success of Special Campaign 2.0 has further bolstered FCI's ability to fulfill its mission.

Throughout the campaign's duration, progress was closely monitored, and updates were provided on the SCPDM Portal of the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) at www.pgportal.gov.in/scdpm.

This ongoing commitment to efficiency, cleanliness, and transparency ensures that FCI continues to play a pivotal role in securing the nation's food supply.
