The Rajasthan government has introduced a significant initiative to support farmers by offering up to a 60% subsidy on irrigation pipelines. This scheme aims to enhance water conservation and improve irrigation efficiency, enabling farmers to transport water from sources like tube wells or wells directly to their fields, and ultimately increase agricultural productivity.

The primary objectives of this Initiative include ensuring efficient water delivery by enabling the direct transfer of water from sources such as tube wells or wells to agricultural fields, thereby minimizing water loss. Additionally, the scheme aims to promote water conservation, helping farmers achieve up to 20-25% savings through the use of efficient pipeline systems.

Subsidy Details

The scheme offers financial assistance to farmers for the procurement and installation of irrigation pipelines:

  • For Small and Marginal Farmers: A subsidy covering 60% of the pipeline cost, up to a maximum of Rs 18,000, whichever is lower.

  • For Other Farmers: A subsidy covering 50% of the pipeline cost, up to a maximum of Rs 15,000, whichever is lower.

The subsidy is applicable for pipelines with a diameter of 63 mm or more. The specific subsidy rates based on pipe material are:

  • High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Pipes: Rs 50 per meter.

  • Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) Pipes: Rs 35 per meter.

  • HDPE Laminated Flat Tube Pipes: Rs 20 per meter.

The maximum subsidy amount is capped at Rs 15,000.

To benefit from this scheme, farmers must meet the following conditions:

  • Land Ownership: Possession of cultivable agricultural land in Rajasthan.

  • Irrigation Equipment: Availability of a functional diesel, electric, or tractor-operated pump set installed on a borewell or well.

Other Guidelines

  • Approved Suppliers: Pipelines must be purchased from manufacturers or authorized distributors registered with the Agriculture Department.

  • Verification Process: After installation, the Agriculture Department will conduct a verification process to confirm proper implementation.

  • Direct Benefit Transfer: The subsidy amount will be directly credited to the farmer's bank account upon successful verification.
