The Sanyukt Kisan Morcha announced a 24-hour blockade at the KMP expressway on Saturday, April 10. Farmers body will make it successful with leaders of several farm outfits from Haryana launching a public contact campaign in the villages on Wednesday to gather people's assistance for the protest.

They visited Kulatana, Garnavathi, Baland villages in Rohtak and Dighal, Rohad, Badli, Jakhoda villages in Jhajjar district to motivate them and others to ensure that they take part in the blockade to strengthen the agitation.

Inderjit Singh, vice president, All India Kisan Sabha said, “To make the sure massive outcome, we are primarily emphasizing villages located near the KMP expressway to reach the protest site in a large number easily. To make it possible, we have made different teams who are contacting the village people".

Singh organized a meeting held at Tikri border, duties have delegated to the farm leaders to invite the villagers by making phone calls or using other media.

The 24-hour blockade would start from 10 A.M on April 10 at the same points where Dharna took place on March 6, he added.

National general secretary, Virendra Hooda of BKU [Kisan Sarkar], advised that the call for the blockade at the KMP expressway is gearing up in the opposition of "indifference" of central government towards farmer agitation and continuing with its agenda of privatization besides new measures notified by the FCI for the purchase of wheat.

Today, we visited numerous villages and found acute bitterness among the villagers against the BJP government on the farmer's issue, Hooda stated.

The leader said the role of nodal purchase agency had been systematically cut down to facilitate the corporate and private players in the grain trade.

Situations like land revenue documents or steeply transferring money to the farmers directly in their account may arise as many farmers cultivate the crops on a contract basis will be deprived of the money of sale as they do not have land in their names, he said.
