The Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) said on Saturday that if the Centre does not react to its demands, it will mark 'Virodh Diwas' on January 31. Yudhvir Singh, BKU leader, remarked at a news conference near the Singhu border, "The Centre has not created a committee on MSP or addressed us about it as of yet. The MoS whose son is engaged in the Lakhimpur Kheri affair has not been dismissed by the government."
"If the central government does not listen to our demands, on January 31, we shall celebrate Virodh Diwas," he stated.
He claimed he was reminding the administration of the farmers' movement's postponement "On December 11, our movement was postponed. Because the administration has failed to reply to our demands, on January 31, we will burn effigies of the government around the country."
He further stated that the BKU will resume its agitation in Uttar Pradesh on February 1st.
"For 3-4 days from January 21, we will travel to Lakhimpur Kheri in Uttar Pradesh to meet with farmers and their families. We'll talk about it and come up with a plan for our agitation's next steps "Rakesh Tikait, the BKU's head, stated.
After receiving a letter from the Centre promising to create a committee on Minimum Support Price (MSP) and remove proceedings against them immediately, the SKM declared the suspension of their year-long protest in December last year.
On November 29, the Farm Laws Repeal Bill was approved by both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha on the first day of the Winter session. President Ram Nath Kovind also signed the bill abolishing the three farm laws, bringing the process to a close.
Since November 26, 2020, farmers have been protesting against farm laws on Delhi's numerous boundaries. After Government repealed the 3 agri laws last month, the protest was withdrawn but conflict somehow remained between the farmers and Centre.
