Farmers are regarded as the backbone of India's economy, and they play a significant role in rural prosperity. Every year on December 23rd, the nation commemorates Kisan Diwas to celebrate the birthday of the 5th Prime Minister of India, Choudhary Charan Singh.
Realizing the importance of this day, Krishi Jagran in association with the Department of Agriculture, Government of Uttar Pradesh at Farmer Training Centre, Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, India organized an event named ‘Janpadiya Rabi Goshthi/ Kisan Mela’ today.
The programme began with the lighting of a lamp by Chief Guest- Anil Sharma, Minister of State for Forest, Environment, and Climate Change in the Uttar Pradesh government. Thereby, Deputy Agriculture Director spoke about Choudhary Charan Singh's life and contributions.
The Chief Development Officer provided information on various developmental schemes and programmes. Chandra Prakash Singh, DM of Bulandshahr District also shed some light on the life of former Prime Minister Choudhary Charan Singh. Bola Singh, Member of Lok Sabha, Shikarpur, Bulandshahr also shared his views during his speech.
Distribution of Awards to Farmers:
Anil Sharma, the chief guest, honoured & awarded many farmers for their significant contributions to the agriculture sector. This platform brought together many stakeholders, including farmers, government officials, and industry leaders, under one roof to meet and discuss at various levels for the overall growth of agriculture.
Interaction with Farmers:
Krishi Jagran along with STIHL, CEAT, GS Caltex & Greenspace Agri Life has put up their stall at this fair to provide a platform for the farmers to speak out and encourage them to gain new facts about the latest farm equipments and farming business.
