Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar called off Sonipat visit amid farmers' protest against him here on Wednesday. Despite police security with barricades and check posts in order to halt the protestors in Sonipat, the farmers in a large number gathered in the stadium, to where the CM had to land by helicopter.
CM Manohar Lal Khattar was scheduled to participate in an event at Gohana in Sonipat yesterday afternoon.
Farmers, agitated with the Centres' controversial farm laws have been protesting since last year and they already announced that will held resistance against the chief minister's visit. The gatherings raised up in opposition to his visit and police tried to negotiate with them, but ends to no avail.
Bail Denied To Ashish Mishra
Farmers are at a protest in Uttar Pradesh as eight people including four farmers were mowed down to death in violence at Lakhimpur Kheri.
They were smashed by an SUV alleges that Union Minister Ajay Mishra's son Ashish Mishra was inside the vehicle then.
Up police including Ashish Mishra arrested four people so far. The latest update regarding the incident is that the union minister's son was also denied bail by the court here on Wednesday.
Two weeks back, Manohar Lal Khattar said that his ventures joined with the Union government will be remembered in the future as farmers' government. He told that the Modi- Manohar sarkaar brought several strategies for the welfare of farmers. Also, the CM had elaborated on the government's initiatives for enhancing farmers' earnings.
Earlier in August, one of the top officials in Karnal- Sub-divisional magistrate Ayush Sinha was removed from his post for his remarks against demonstrators.
He was caught in the camera while giving instructions to hit and thrash the farmers. This also escalated the situation to more rage in Haryana.
