Our natural surroundings, which include plant, animal, and non-living elements throughout the land, water bodies, and sky that support life on this planet, are referred to as the environment. Human actions have caused significant environmental harm, such as global warming, air, water, and land pollution, and biodiversity loss, since the late 18th century's Industrial Revolution. Every year on June 5th, World Environment Day is commemorated to raise awareness about the threats to our natural world and to encourage people to protect it.
'Only One Earth' was the theme of this year's World Environment Day ceremony. This was also the motto for the 1972 Stockholm conference, which resulted in the establishment of the annual worldwide event on June 5.
The topic emphasizes the fact that only Earth, out of all the known galaxies, star systems, and planets, can support life. Because human actions are generating irreversible environmental harm, it is critical to minimize or avoid future damage to our biosphere.
In this light, on June 5, 2022, at 3:00 p.m., Krishi Jagran presented a webinar on "World Environment Day" with the topic "Sustainable Ecosystem and Agriculture." Various leaders, agricultural experts, government officials/scientists, and environmentalists were asked to speak on present challenges, policies, and future prospects for our planet's sustainable ecology and agriculture.

Dr Hishmi Jamil Husain gave a presentation shredding a light on the topic "Climate Change and Sustainable Ecosystem". He said to achieve the ecological sustainability we need to understand that there is a climate change happening. The climate change is creating a havoc to the agriculture. Through his presentation he wanted to talk about things happening around us and how we can understand and work on environmental crisis. And also how we can protect our ecosystem.
He further shared his views on how climate change can be a threat for humankind. Human civilization will crumble by 2050 if we don't stop climate change now. Our climate is changing around us faster than predicted. From more frequent and extreme storms to unprecedented heatwave, we're feeling the impacts of human-caused global warming. If we are not taking correct actions, if we are not restoring the ecosystem, all human civilization will be affected.
Kartik Rawal, National Prime Business Executive of Meera Clean Floors Ltd, said, "Environment is a concern that directly affects farming. We can say that the issues we're facing in farming, the main reason is Environment. And the main issue here is global warming which is caused due to our current fuel, fossil fuel. We need to replace fossil fuel with clean biofills."
He also shared an example of the amount of pollution a car produces, we need 1 hundred acres of forest to recycle that pollution and it will take a year to recycle it. So, the need to change fossil fuels to clean biofills is really crucial.
Rajinder Singh, Sales Head of Agri Products Gen Bio Products Ltd, presented a few slides regarding the topic "Sustainable Ecosystem and Agriculture. He spoke about the main components of Sustainable Agriculture: Soil Management, Water Management, Pest Management and Waste Management. He also shared his views regarding 3 R's in Agriculture, Rainwater Harvesting in Agriculture and Reduce GHGs in Agriculture.
