Finding out how much balance is there in the provident fund (PF) account is a crucial financial activity that an employee may want to complete at the beginning of a new fiscal year. The employer and employee each make a fixed monthly contribution to the PF account of 12% of the employee's basic salary, respectively. Without having to go to the PF office or ask the employer, there are several ways to check the PF balance. Here are 5 ways to check the balance of your EPF (employee provident fund).
How to Check PF Balance from EPFO Website:
Click on "Member Passbook" under the section for employees on the EPFO website. By authenticating with your UAN and password, you can view the PF passbook. Along with the opening and closing balances, the employee and employer contribution breakdown will be displayed. Amounts for any PF transfers and accrued PF interest will also be displayed. If your UAN has more than one provident fund number attached to it, all of them will be displayed. You need to click on the relevant member ID to get the balance of that PF account.
How to Check PF Balance from Unified Portal:
The provident fund balance can also be viewed by opening the PF passbook after logging in to Unified Portal with your UAN and password. The PF contributions for several fiscal years are available for viewing.
How to Check PF Balance from SMS:
To view the EPF balance on a mobile device, use the SMS service. You have to send the SMS keyword EPFOHO UAN ENG to 7738299899 in order to use the service. Sending SMS will be useful for learning your PF balance without a UAN.
Sending an SMS to 7738299899 is as simple as that, but make sure you use your registered cell phone number. After sending the SMS, one will receive the most recent PF contribution as well as the member's balance information that is unique to your KYC information.
How to Check PF Balance from Missed Call:
Use your phone to check your EPF balance; you won't even need your UAN for this. You have to use the EPFO's Missed Call function in order to do this. You only need to make a missed call from your registered mobile phone to 011-22901406. The call is disconnected after two rings, and the user is then presented with a message displaying their PF balance. The fact that this service is free and accessible on non-smartphones is important. As an employee, you must, however, make sure that your UAN is connected to your bank account, as well as your Aadhaar and PAN numbers and your cell phone number, all of which need to be registered at the Unified Portal.
How to Check PF Balance from UMANG App:
Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance (UMANG) app can be used to get EPF information such as PF balance, claim status, Know Your Customer (KYC) status, etc.
