The EPFO subscribers could receive the full PF interest amount by the end of this month, although official confirmation is still pending.
It is expected that the funds will shortly be credited to subscribers' accounts. If EPFO subscribers had not yet received their EPF interest payment, according to media reports, they might get it before Chhath puja. For about five crore subscribers of the retirement fund organization EPFO, the government approved an 8.1% rate of return on EPF deposits for 2021–2022, which is a four-decade low.
Since 1977–1978, when it was at 8%, the EPF interest rate has been at its lowest level of 8.1%. The Central Board of Trustees (CBT) determined the 8.5 percent interest rate on EPF deposits year 2020–21 in March 2021. The EPFO manages assets of Rs 15.7 lakh crore and has over 65 million members.
