Now this is called a final world cup match. For the first time in history of ICC World cup, the match was extended to super over. The world cup 2019 final had actually left both players as well as fans gob-smacked. Run out off the last ball, there will never be another World Cup final like this. It was a complete heartbreak for New Zealand. After a tied match and super over, the hosts won on the number of boundaries.
New Zealand won the toss and scored 241 for 8 after opting to bat while the host England was all out for exact score in the last ball of their innings. Then came the Super over, which was Super, England then made 15 in the Super Over and again New Zealand equaled it. England hit 26 boundaries but unfortunately New Zealand couldn’t equal it hence England won the match.
The mad over (Drama at Death)
The match was extended to super over, as 100 overs couldn't decide the champion. Rules of super over are that both the teams have to choose three batsmen who would bat and a bowler who would ball 6 balls, If 2 players get out the over is finished. So, first England came for batting and scored 15 with Stokes and Jos Buttler against Trent Boult. Then New Zealand replied with 15 runs, with James Neesham clouting a six off Jofra Archer in a mad over that ended once Martin Guptill got run-out while going for the winning run. England won as they had more boundaries i.e 26 than what New Zealand had 17 only.
