On Friday, July 12, an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.2 jolted the Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir, the National Center for Seismology (NCS) reported. The tremor occurred at 12:26 PM and had a depth of 5 kilometers.
Earlier in the day, the region experienced a moderate earthquake with a magnitude of 4.1. According to the NCS, this quake struck Baramulla early in the morning and had its epicenter located at latitude 34.32 N and longitude 74.34 E, at a depth of 10 kilometers.
Fortunately, there have been no immediate reports of casualties or significant damage from either of the tremors. The NCS continues to monitor the situation for any further seismic activity.
