The Ministry of Labour and Employment informed that more than 27 lakh unorganized workers have registered themselves on the e-Shram portal since its launch in August.
A government official statement said that the ministry is organizing various camps for the registration/enrollment of the unorganized workers on e-Shram portal. It further said that one such camp was set up in Delhi’s Shram Shakti Bhavan on Thursday (9 September) to register the unorganised labour working in different ministries located in the building.
Benefits of e shram card
The e-Shram card provided by the Ministry of Labour and Employment offers numerous benefits to unorganized workers.

The e-shram card provides accidental insurance coverage under the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) for one year.

You will get Rs 2 lakh in case of permanent disability or accidental death.

Rs 1 lakh will be given in case of partial disability.

The unorganized workers will also get assistance from Centre & State Government during pandemic or natural calamities.

e shram card can be used across the country.
Besides, Government has launched PM Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojana that ensures old age protection for the unorganized workers, whose monthly income is Rs 15,000/ per month or less.
e Shram Portal Online Registration Process
To register on e Shram portal to get e Shram Card you must have a valid Aadhaar card, mobile number and Bank account. The age must be between 16 to 59 years.

Go to the official government website – https://eshram.gov.in/.

On the homepage, look for the link that reads “Register on e-Shram”.

When you click the link a new page will open.

Now you will have to go to “Self Registration” section.

Here enter your Aadhaar linked mobile number and the given captcha.

Then mention ‘NO’ against Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO), & Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC).

Now click on OTP

An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number.
You will get your e-Shram card once registration is done on the e shram portal.
