DRDO Recruitment 2025: The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has officially invited applications for apprenticeship at its Gas Turbine Research Establishment (GTRE) for the financial year 2025–26. A total of 150 apprenticeship positions are available across engineering, non-engineering, diploma, and ITI trades. This program offers a valuable opportunity for recent graduates and diploma holders to gain hands-on experience at one of India’s premier defence research and development institutions.
DRDO GTRE Recruitment 2025: Apprenticeship Vacancies
The apprenticeship program is categorized into four main streams:

Graduate Apprentice (Engineering): 75 positions across disciplines such as Mechanical, Aerospace, Electronics, Computer Science, Metallurgy, and Civil Engineering.

Graduate Apprentice (Non-Engineering): 30 seats for graduates in B.Com, B.Sc., B.A., BCA, and BBA.

Diploma Apprentice: 20 positions including Mechanical, Electronics, and Computer Engineering.

ITI Apprentice: 25 openings in trades like Machinist, Fitter, Turner, Electrician, Welder, Sheet Metal Worker, and COPA.
Eligibility Criteria: DRDO Recruitment 2025
Applicants must be between 18 and 27 years of age as of May 8, 2025. Age relaxations apply as per government norms. Candidates who completed their qualifying exams in the past five years (2021–2025) are eligible, provided they haven’t undergone prior apprenticeship or have over a year of work experience. Higher qualification holders are not eligible.

Selection Procedure
The selection will be based strictly on academic merit and subject to document verification. Candidates must provide proof of medical fitness and police verification before joining.
DRDO-GTRE has clarified that the apprenticeship does not guarantee employment post training. However, the program offers valuable experience in a high-tech R&D environment under the Ministry of Defence.
