After several days of extreme heat, Delhi is set to witness a significant change in weather, with moderate rainfall, thunderstorms, and gusty winds forecast over the coming days. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert for light to moderate rain accompanied by gusty winds reaching up to 70 km/h, effective until June 18.

On June 15, national capital recorded light rainfall along with thunderstorms and gusty winds reaching up to 70 kmph. The maximum temperature ranged between 37°C and 39°C, which was 1°C to 2°C below normal, while the minimum temperature settled between 23°C and 25°C, 2°C to 4°C below normal.

IMD forecasts that partly cloudy to generally cloudy skies will prevail during this week. Daytime temperatures are expected to gradually decline, with maximum temperatures predicted to stay below 39°C, a welcome relief for residents who have faced weeks of intense heat.
