Delhi on 'Yellow Alert' for the Next Few Days

The National Capital has witnessed heavy rainfall in the past few days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for the national capital on August 7 and 8. Light to moderate rain is predicted for the next two days.

Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 35.2 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, slightly above normal. However, the upcoming rainfall is expected to bring down the mercury. Tuesday's Air Quality Index (AQI) was in the 'satisfactory' category.   

A cyclonic storm from Rajasthan towards Delhi may result in moderate to heavy rain in the capital over the next two days. While the rain is welcome, the humidity levels in Delhi-NCR are expected to remain high this week.   

Besides Delhi, IMD has also predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in parts of Rajasthan, Punjab, and Uttar Pradesh. Himachal Pradesh is also under an orange alert for August 7 and 8 due to the potential for severe weather conditions.   

Delhi has already experienced scattered and light rainfall on Monday, accompanied by strong winds. The city is expected to remain cloudy with moderate rain throughout the week.   

The IMD has provided a detailed forecast for the next few days (According to PTI):

August 7: Temperature between 27°C and 33°C with generally cloudy skies and moderate rain.

August 8: Minimum temperature of 26°C and a maximum of 32°C with generally cloudy skies and moderate rain.   

August 9: Temperature range of 25°C to 33°C with generally cloudy skies and light rain.   

August 10: Temperatures between 25°C and 34°C with rain or thundershowers.   

August 11: Temperature range of 25°C to 33°C with rain or thundershowers.
