As covid cases is rising in Delhi, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday said lockdown is “not an option”, but few restrictions need to imposed in the national capital, which is wobbling under the fourth wave of coronavirus pandemic.
Chief Minister said this during an interaction with a reporter after visiting LNJP Hospital – the mainstay of Delhi’s fight against Covid 19 – to check its readiness.
Lockdown is not an option but will put some restrictions to fight against Covid-19 as cases are increasing. We will announce the new restrictions in the coming days, he said.
Covid centres are being rebuilt, and few have already started functioning,” restated him as saying in a statement issued by the chief minister’s office.
Kejriwal said that the administration and hospitals are working to carry the fourth wave of the pandemic in the city.
We are in a comfortable position as of now concerning beds and ventilators. We will ensure that the Delhi people stay safe to the best of their abilities.
Coronavirus cases in Delhi are increasing rapidly in the last few days, and the number of deaths has also risen.
Delhi recorded 8521 new Covid -19 on Friday, the highest number of single-day cases after November 11 last year, 39 people have died due to the coronavirus infection, taking death cases to 11196.
Kejriwal visited Lok Nayak Jai Prakash hospital to review its preparation on Saturday in the fourth wave of the coronavirus pandemic that hits Delhi. He checks the situation and the facilities provided to the patients in the hospital, he said.
At present, 1500 beds out of 2000 beds are reserved for Covid-19 patients and might increase the number as per the requirement in the future.
Below are some guidelines which we need to follow as of now while Delhi government will come up with additional guidelines soon:

Only 50 people are allowed at a social gathering in a hall and 100 in an open ground.

Night curfew from 10 pm to 5 am in the state.

Wearing a face mask should be strictly followed; police officials need to check.

Offices need to sanitize regularly.

If possible, pls allow the staff to work from home.

School teachers must give online classes from home.
Union agriculture minister Narendra Singh Tomar yesterday requested agitating farmers to stop their protests against the three farm laws citing the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic and resume discussions with the government. Now the second wave has begun hence farmers and their unions should follow the guidelines of Covid 19. They should postpone the protest and have words with us.
