Ahead of the Delhi assembly elections, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president and Union minister J.P. Nadda launched the party's Sankalp Patra (manifesto). During a press conference, Nadda highlighted that the manifesto was designed after comprehensive discussions with various sections of Delhi, including the business community, middle-class citizens, and marginalized groups, such as those living in slums.

The BJP's manifesto focuses heavily on addressing the needs of women, youth, and the unorganized labor force. Nadda promised that all existing public welfare schemes would continue, with efforts to strengthen them and ensure they are free from corruption. The party also outlined several key initiatives aimed at improving the lives of Delhi’s residents, especially women and the elderly.

The party has pledged to provide Rs 2,500 per month to every woman in Delhi through the Mahila Samridhi Yojana. Additionally, under this scheme, women from economically weaker sections will receive LPG cylinders at a subsidized price of Rs 500. On major festivals like Holi and Diwali, women will also receive one free cylinder.

The party also pledged to provide six nutrition kits and Rs 21,000 to every pregnant woman under the Matru Suraksha Vandana scheme.

BJP's manifesto also outlines the full implementation of the Ayushman Bharat scheme in Delhi within the first cabinet meeting. Under this scheme, residents will receive a health cover of up to Rs 10 lakh, with the Delhi government adding an additional Rs 5 lakh in coverage. Furthermore, the BJP has promised to expand the scheme to benefit 51 lakh people in the city.

For senior citizens, the BJP proposed a Rs 2,500 monthly pension for individuals aged 60-70, with an increase to Rs 3,000 for senior citizens above the age of 70, as well as for widows and destitute women.

The party also laid out plans to set up ‘Atal Canteens’ in slums and JJ clusters, offering nutritious meals at a nominal cost of Rs 5.

Nadda reassured Delhi residents that all welfare schemes running in the city will be continued and strengthened under a BJP government. The party emphasized its focus on combating corruption and ensuring transparency in the implementation of these programs.

With the Delhi assembly election scheduled for February 5, 2025, and results to be announced on February 8, the BJP’s manifesto presents a series of promises. Whether these promises will sway voters remains to be seen.
