Cyclone Mandous Latest Update
On Sunday, December 11, the India Meteorology Department (IMD) forecasted that Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, and coastal Andhra Pradesh in the south would see significant rainfall.
This is because of the cyclone Mandous' remnant weather system, which generated rain in the states of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka as well as the Union Territory of Puducherry after it made landfall on Friday night close to Mahabalipuram.
Holiday Declared
Due to the anticipated rainfall, holidays have been issued in the TN Kancheepuram district's Kancheepuram Taluk and the Tiruvallur district's Uthukottai Taluk. Due to the rain the previous night, the inhabitants of Coimbatore woke on Monday to a heavy and blinding fog.
"Rainfall warning: Heavy rainfall at isolated places very likely over Tamil Nadu, South Interior Karnataka & south Coastal Andhra Pradesh today and over Kerala & Mahe during 11th-13th December 2022," the IMD stated in its forecast on Monday. "Thereafter, rainfall activity over the region will decrease," it added.
