When and Where the Exam Was Held
The Joint CSIR UGC NET December 2024 examination was conducted over three days — on February 28, March 1, and March 2, 2025. The exam was held at 326 test centres in 164 cities across India. This time, a total of 2,38,451 candidates registered for the exam. Out of these, 1,74,785 candidates actually appeared for the test.

How Many Candidates Qualified in the Exam?

1,963 candidates qualified for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) under the CSIR JRF scheme. These candidates can also apply for Assistant Professor posts, if they meet the minimum eligibility conditions set by UGC.

Only 11 candidates qualified only for JRF under the CSIR scheme. However, these candidates are not eligible to apply for Assistant Professor roles.

1,875 candidates were selected under the UGC JRF scheme. They are also eligible to apply for the position of Assistant Professor.
Apart from JRF, many candidates qualified for other academic roles:
