Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the former captain of Team India, has turned to Ayurveda as he seeks therapy for knee ailments. The 40-year-old had been suffering from knee discomfort for months and was looking for a cure.
According to a news report, the sportsman is now consulting an Ayurvedic doctor for treatment with his knee, and the doctor is charging Rs.40 for his treatment.
Vandan Singh Khervar, an Ayurvedic doctor, lives in the highly wooded area of Lapung, a hamlet, 70 kilometers from Ranchi. Dhoni is being treated and his recuperation is being overseen by Khervar.
The doctor stated that he charges Dhoni Rs 40 for consultations and Rs 40 for prescribed medications. When India's ace cricketer Dhoni came to visit Khervar for therapy, Khervar couldn't believe it.
People traveling with the former Team India captain, as well as local teenagers, gathered to catch sight of the celebrity and notified the ayurvedic doctor that Dhoni had come to meet him.
Khervar has also treated the cricketer's parents, who have been on his medications for three months. "Dhoni arrives without fanfare, just like any other patient. He is down-to-earth. However, word of Dhoni's coming now draws his supporters here every four days.
Dhoni was last seen playing professional cricket in the IPL 2022, when his club, the Chennai Super Kings, placed ninth out of ten teams. The keeper-batter took over the franchise midway through the season when Ravindra Jadeja failed to provide results as CSK's captain.
While it is unknown if Dhoni would play any domestic cricket before the IPL next season, he has advised sportsmen to take satisfaction in playing district-level contests.
