The Central Board of Secondary Education, or CBSE, will soon reveal the results for the Classes 10, 12, and Term 2 exams. Results for the CBSE 10th and 12th grades are anticipated by the last week of July, according to the official release. Based on the evaluation criteria for Terms 1 and 2, the board would announce the combined outcome. Here is a brief explanation of this year's marking scheme.
It was reported that the results would be released in the final week of July, and no later than July 31. Results for Classes 10 and 12 are anticipated to be released by CBSE around July 23 and July 28, respectively.
CBSE held the Class 10 and 12 board exams over the course of two terms this year. The weightage method will only be used to calculate students' theory marks from Term 1 and Term 2 exams, according to CBSE, and not internal marks. The students' internal/practical grades would be added as is to their final grade. Only the theoretical marks would be given any weight.
Please be aware that the weighting for Terms 1 and 2 is tentative. The board had previously proposed that, should they be done in an offline format, it would give equal weight to both terms.
The weightage would, however, be disclosed at the time of the Term 2 result, CBSE informed after the Term 1 result. According to experts and sources, a 50:50 split seems likely. If there is a 50/50 split (as in the case of ICSE), the marks earned for Term 1 and Term 2 as well as the Internals will be combined together to get the final score out of 100.
Students are, however, opposing this method of calculating marks. Vishal Christopher Singh, a class 12th student of Rainbow English School, New Delhi said, “Term 1 format of examination was new for us and the majority of students didn’t score well so CBSE should calculate the final score on the basis of the best of either term. It is the only fair method of calculating results seeing that we gave the exams while going through a very stressful time during the Covid-19 pandemic.”
Speaking about the delay in the result announcement, Singh said, “CBSE needs to understand that students are starting the admission process for graduate programs and release the results before 28 July.”
