In a shocking circumstance, the body of missing Cafe Coffee Day founder V G Siddhartha had found dead by the fisherman in Hoige Bazaar, by the seashore, at around 6 am Wednesday. The founder of India's largest coffee chain who is the son-in-law of former Karnataka CM and BJP leader SM Krishna had been missing from Mangaluru since Monday night. Shockingly, one letter had found written by Sidhratha to the board of directors and his CCD family before he went missing, he said he had “failed to create the right profitable business model despite my best efforts”.

He added, “I would like to say I gave it my all. I am very sorry to let down all the people that put their trust in me. I fought for a long time but today I gave up as I could not take any more pressure from one of the private equity partners forcing me to buy back shares….”

The Hoige Bazaar beach where the body found is less than a kilometer from the bridge connected with Nethravathi River near Mangaluru where Siddhartha was last seen.

Commissioner of Police (Mangaluru) Sandeep Patil, who rushed to the spot, directed the police personnel to send the body to government-run Wenlock Hospital to conduct a post-mortem.

“The body was found in Hoige Bazaar at 6 am. We have also informed the matter to his family. The body has been sent to Wenlock Hospital for taking up formalities. We will continue the investigation,” he told in front of media.

According to reports, Siddhartha had gotten off from his car near this bridge on Monday evening but failed to return after an hour. A panicked driver went down looking for him, but could not find him anywhere. He then alerted the family members, who in turn informed the police.

Internet is flooded with condolence lines for the sudden demise of the business tycoon and the most successful entrepreneur of India who is able to carry the CCD fame to its heights. Many blamed the sitting government including  Karnataka Congress.

Karnataka Congress tweeted,

#VGSiddhartha case is very unfortunate. Result of harassment by IT officials & decline of India’s entrepreneurial position turning virulent by the day, with Tax Terror & collapse of economy Companies which flourished under UPA have been shut down with many people being jobless.”

Praising the humble and down to earth nature of the demise founder, one netizen tweeted,

“He stood in the queue, paid and bought two cups of Cappuccino for us. The staff of CCD didn’t know they were selling the coffee to their founder.”
