BSF Constable Tradesman Recruitment 2025: Last Date to Apply, Eligibility, Selection Process and More

The Border Security Force (BSF) has announced a large-scale recruitment drive for Constable Tradesman posts in 2025. This recruitment offers an excellent opportunity for candidates who wish to serve in India’s border guarding force. BSF Constable Tradesman Recruitment 2025 Overview

The BSF has released more than 3,500 vacancies for Constable Tradesman across different trades. Candidates can apply online through the official recruitment portal. The last date to submit the application form is 23 August 2025. A correction window will also be available from 24 to 26 August 2025 for candidates who need to make changes in their submitted form.

This recruitment drive is one of the major opportunities for aspirants looking to join paramilitary forces, and therefore, candidates are advised to carefully go through the eligibility criteria and application steps before applying.

Important Dates

The official notification was issued on 25 July 2025, and the online application process started on 26 July 2025. The last date to apply is 23 August 2025. After the closing of applications, candidates will be allowed to correct errors in their forms between 24 and 26 August 2025. No applications will be accepted after the final deadline.

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

The minimum age to apply is 18 years and the maximum age is 25 years. However, there are relaxations for reserved categories. Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes are given a relaxation of five years, while candidates from the Other Backward Class category are given a relaxation of three years.

Educational Qualification

Applicants must have passed at least Class 10 (Matriculation) from a recognized board.

For technical trades such as carpenter, plumber, electrician, and painter, a valid ITI certificate from a recognized institute is mandatory.

For non-technical trades such as cobbler, tailor, washerman, barber, sweeper, cook, and water carrier, candidates must have passed Class 10 and possess skills in the respective trade.

Physical Standards

Applicants must meet specific physical standards prescribed by the BSF. For male candidates, the minimum height is around 165 cm, and the chest measurement should be between 75 and 80 cm. For female candidates, the minimum height is around 155 cm.

Medical Standards

Candidates must be physically and medically fit. Proper vision, good overall health, and no serious physical disabilities are required to qualify.

Nationality

Only Indian citizens can apply for this recruitment. However, citizens of Nepal and Bhutan can also apply if they have an eligibility certificate from the Government of India.

Selection Process

The BSF selection process is conducted in multiple stages to ensure that only deserving and physically fit candidates are chosen. The steps include:

Physical Standards Test (PST) – Candidates will be checked for height, chest, and weight measurements.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET) – Running and other physical activities are conducted to test stamina and fitness.

Trade Test – Candidates are tested on their skills in the trade they have applied for, such as tailoring, cooking, plumbing, or any other.

Written Examination – A written test is conducted to check general knowledge, reasoning, basic mathematics, and awareness.

Document Verification – Original documents such as educational certificates, caste certificate, domicile, and ID proofs are verified.

Medical Examination – A final medical check-up is conducted to ensure candidates are fit for service.

Only candidates who clear all these stages are considered for final selection.

Application Fee

General, OBC, and EWS category candidates are required to pay an application fee of around 150 rupees, along with applicable GST. Some official notifications mention 100 rupees as the base fee. Candidates belonging to SC, ST, female, and ex-servicemen categories are exempted from paying the application fee.

Salary and Benefits

Candidates selected for the post of Constable Tradesman will be placed under Pay Level 3. The salary ranges between 21,700 to 69,100 rupees per month. In addition to the basic pay, selected candidates will also be entitled to allowances such as dearness allowance, house rent allowance, and other benefits provided to central government employees.

Step 2: Registering with a valid email ID and mobile number.

Step 3: Filling in personal and educational details.

Step 4: Uploading scanned documents such as photographs, signatures, thumb impressions, and educational certificates.

Step 5: Paying the application fee, if applicable.

Step 6: Submitting the application form and downloading the confirmation slip for future reference.
