BPSC 71st CCE 2025: Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has recently made a major announcement regarding the 71st Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) 2025. The commission has increased the number of vacancies under this recruitment process, which brings a significant opportunity for aspirants preparing for government jobs in Bihar.

Total Vacancies Increased

Earlier, the total number of posts under BPSC 71st CCE was 1,250. As per the latest update, the commission has added 14 new vacancies for the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), increasing the total number of available posts to 1,264. This decision was taken after receiving a fresh requisition from the Bihar Home Department.

This development is important for candidates who are targeting police service roles, as DSP is one of the most competitive and prestigious posts under this examination.

Application Timeline

The online application process for the 71st BPSC CCE started on 2nd June 2025. The last date to complete the application form is 30th June 2025. Candidates must ensure that they complete their registration, form filling, and fee payment process before the deadline. No applications will be accepted after the last date.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the BPSC 71st Combined Competitive Exam, candidates must possess a graduation degree from a recognized university. The degree can be in any discipline. Those who are in their final year of graduation and expecting results before the main examination may also be eligible, but they must read the official notification carefully.

The age limit for the candidates varies according to the category. For general category male candidates, the age range is 21 to 37 years. For women and candidates belonging to backward classes, the upper age limit is 40 years. SC and ST category candidates are eligible up to the age of 42 years.

In addition to educational and age qualifications, certain posts like Deputy Superintendent of Police require candidates to meet physical standards as well. These include height, chest measurement, and visual fitness, which will be tested at later stages of selection.

Application Fee

The application fee depends on the category of the candidate. General, OBC, EWS, and candidates from outside Bihar are required to pay a fee of Rs 600. SC, ST, and female candidates from Bihar need to pay Rs 150. An additional biometric fee of Rs 200 is applicable for all categories. The fee must be paid online during the application process.

How to Apply Online

The application form is available only through the official BPSC online portal. First, candidates must complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) to generate login credentials. After logging in, they must fill out the detailed application form, upload scanned documents, and pay the applicable fees online. Once submitted, candidates should download and save the confirmation page for future reference.

It is important to double-check all information filled in the form, especially name, date of birth, category, and educational details. Any errors can lead to disqualification at a later stage.

Exam Pattern and Selection Process

The selection process for BPSC 71st CCE will take place in three stages: Preliminary Examination, Mains Examination, and Interview. The preliminary exam is tentatively scheduled to be held on 30th August 2025. This test will be objective in nature and serve as a screening round.

Those who qualify in the prelims will be invited to appear for the mains exam. This stage consists of written papers based on general studies, optional subjects, and essay writing. Candidates who perform well in the mains will be called for a final interview round.

The final merit list will be prepared based on the cumulative performance of candidates in the mains exam and the interview. Prelims marks will not be counted in the final merit list.

Candidates must ensure that they meet all eligibility conditions before applying. They should keep scanned copies of passport-size photograph, signature, and all necessary documents ready while filling the form.

It is advisable to read the official instructions and notifications carefully to avoid errors or rejection. Aspirants are also encouraged to begin or continue their exam preparation in a structured manner, as the competition is expected to be tough due to the large number of applicants.
