Next week, Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) are expected to experience a cold wave with low points as low as 3 degrees Celsius. On Friday, Delhi's low temperature was 10.2 degrees Celsius.
On Saturday, the India Meteorological Department forecasted a cold wave will affect parts of Delhi between January 16 and January 18. On Tuesday and Wednesday, the lowest temperature in Ayanagar and Ridge may be about 3 degrees Celsius.
The IMD forecast suggests that Delhi residents' situation can worsen after bone-chilling evenings for several weeks. People have been asked to limit their outside activities after receiving a frostbite warning from the weather service.
"Eat fruits and vegetables high in vitamin C and drink enough warm drinks to keep your immunity strong. Limit or refrain from outside activities, "According to the IMD's guidelines.
Delhi Temperature will drop to 2 Degrees
According to Skymet, a different meteorological agency, Rajasthan, and Gujarat have already seen a dip in temperature as a result of very cold winds from the north. The agency, however, refuted a forecaster's claims that Delhi might see temperatures as low as -4 degrees Celsius next week.
"Between January 16 and January 18, Delhi may have a minimum of 3 to 4 degrees, but it won't dip below 0 degrees in any way. Isolated spots might experience a minimum of 2 degrees, "added Skymet in a tweet.
Authorities have already begun building extra shelter houses since it is expected that the unusually low temperatures would affect the homeless and animals the most.
Dense fog warning issued for Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh
During Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh over the course of the next five days, dense to extremely dense fog is also quite likely to occur in spots during the night and early morning hours.
For the following five days, Bihar is expected to have dense fog.
Over the next four days, there may be heavy fog across Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand as well.
