Union Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare will participate in the 17th edition of BioFach India 2025, one of the country’s largest organic trade fairs, scheduled from August 30 to September 1 at the India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida. The event will feature a diverse showcase of organic products from the North-Eastern Region, developed under Mission Organic Value Chain Development for the North Eastern Region (MOVCDNER).
Over 27 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) supported under MOVCDNER will present a wide variety of organic produce and value-added products, including cardamom, kiwi, pineapple, ginger, turmeric, king chilli, whole spices, rice, millets, and fresh as well as processed fruits, including Geographical Indication (GI) products.
These FPOs will have the opportunity to connect directly with buyers, traders, and industry experts from India and abroad, enabling them to explore new market avenues and partnerships.
Launched in 2015-16, MOVCDNER is a flagship initiative aimed at promoting organic farming across the North-Eastern States. The scheme focuses on end-to-end support for farmers, from production and processing to certification and marketing. It particularly emphasizes forming organic clusters, supporting small and marginal farmers, and building sustainable value chains to ensure better market access and fair prices.
The participation of North-Eastern FPOs at BioFach India 2025 is expected to significantly enhance the visibility of the region’s organic products in both national and global markets.
