The Tata AIG Avanti Fellows Scholarship Program is a joint initiative of Tata AIG General Insurance Company Limited and Avanti Fellows to provide financial assistance to female students from North-Eastern states who wish to pursue higher education.
Girl students pursuing undergraduate programs in medical and engineering streams at prominent Indian schools will be given financial help ranging from Rs 80,000 to Rs 1,60,000 per academic year until the completion of their UG degrees under the Tata AIG Avanti Fellows Scholarship Program.
Since its inception in 2020, this scholarship program has helped 19 female students to reach 100 beneficiaries by the end of the academic year 2021-2022.
The scholarship covers the tuition, the hostel charge, the mess fee, a one-time laptop fee, and other related costs.
Tata AIG Avanti Fellowship: Eligibility Criteria

Only girls from Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Tripura, and Sikkim are eligible to apply.

The applicant must be in their first year of engineering (BE and BTech only) or medical (MBBS and BDS only) undergraduate studies at one of India's leading institutes (Click here to see the list of eligible colleges and universities).

In the academic year 2019-20/2020-21/2021-22, the applicant must have passed Class 12 from any school in the North-Eastern states.

The applicant must be a member of the SC/ST/EWS (Annual family income less than INR 8 lakh)

Buddy4Study, Tata AIG, and Avanti Fellows employees' children are not eligible.
Tata AIG Avanti Fellowship: Benefits

Scholarship of up to INR 1,60,000 each year for the length of the undergraduate degree.

Note that scholarship funds can only be used for academic expenses, such as tuition costs.
