Minister of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Giriraj Singh, kickstarted the two-day Bhumi Samvaad VIII: National Conference of State Revenue/Registration Secretaries and Inspector General of Registration (IGR) on February 8 at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi. In his address, Minister Giriraj Singh stressed the significance of achieving digitalization saturation in land records and registration processes. He highlighted that this initiative will not only reduce the backlog of court cases related to land disputes but also enhance the country's ranking in the Ease of Doing Business index. Moreover, Singh projected that digitalization efforts could potentially boost the country's GDP by 1.5%.
Blockchain and CORS Integral to Modernizing Land Management
Singh emphasized the role of cutting-edge technologies such as Blockchain and CORS in modernizing land management practices. He underscored the importance of government initiatives like ULPIN (Bhu-Aadhaar), Transliteration of Land Records, and NGDRS for streamlining processes and ensuring uniformity in land registration across the nation.

Minister of State for Steel & Rural Development, Faggan Singh Kulaste, reiterated the government's commitment to ensuring transparent governance and the efficient delivery of benefits to citizens. He echoed Singh's sentiments on the pivotal role of digitalization in mitigating land disputes and ensuring fair compensation for land acquisition.
Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, emphasized the need for regular dialogues at the district level to address issues faced by farmers regarding land access and credit. She urged cooperation from states to facilitate such dialogues and enhance farmer welfare.
