Significance of National Milk Day:
The day honors the significance of milk in one's life. The primary goal to celebrate this day is to promote the benefits of milk and the milk industry, as well as to raise public awareness about the importance of milk and milk products.
All of the major dairy industry players, including the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), the Indian Dairy Association (IDA), and 22 state-level dairy federations, agreed on the date. For the first time in 2014, IDA took the initiative to commemorate this day. This year marks the 100th anniversary of Dr. Kurien's birth in India.
