Banks throughout the country will be closed due to many festivals including Diwali in November. In fact, banks in some states will be closed for two days, while others will be closed for three days

Banks throughout the country will be closed due to many festivals including Diwali in November. In fact, banks in some states will be closed for two days, while others will be closed for three days. So, to ensure that your banking transactions are not disrupted, make sure you are aware of when the banks in your state will be closed.

Banks will be closed on the second and fourth Saturdays, as well as on Sundays, across the country. In this article, we have mentioned the bank holidays of November in detail. 

Here is a list of November bank holidays in various states. 

  • 1 November(Monday): Karnataka and Manipur Kannada banks will be closed (Kannada Rajyostsava/Kut). 

  • 3 November(Wednesday): Banks will be closed in Karnataka (Naraka Chaturdashi) 

  • 4 November(Thursday): Banks will be closed in all states except Karnataka Diwali Amavasaya (Laxmi Pujan). 

  • 5 November (Friday): Banks will be closed in Gujarat, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, and Himachal Pradesh (Diwali (Bali Pratipada)/Vikram Samvant New Year Day/Govardhan Pooja). 

  • 6 November (Saturday): Bank will be closed in Maipur, Sikkim, and Uttar Pradesh (Bhai Duj/Chitragupt Jayanti/Laxmi Puja/Deepawali/Ningol Chakkouba). 

  • 10 November (Wednesday): Bank will be closed in Jharkhand and Bihar (Chhath Puja//Surya Pashti Dala Chhath) 

  • 11 November (Thursday): Banks will be closed in Bihar (Chhath Puja). 

  • 12 November (Friday): Banks will be closed in Meghalaya (Wangala Festival). 

  • 19 November (Friday): Banks will be closed in many states such as Delhi, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Jammu and Kashmir, and more. 

  • 22 November (Monday): Banks will be closed in Karnataka (Kanakadasa Jayanthi) 

  • 23 November (Tuesday): Banks will be closed in Meghalaya (Seng Kutsnem). 

(Apart from Diwali, banks in various states will be closed in observance of Guru Nanak Jayanti.) 

Note – Banking services are availed by everyone including people from the farming community or agriculture sector.
