In August, both private and public sector bank employees will take advantage of a bevy of holidays as the festive season slowly ramps up. For bank employees, the month is jam-packed with holidays with 6 weekend days, 1 national holiday, and 13 local holidays.
The list of all bank holidays is available on the website of the Reserve Bank of India, the nation's central bank. The Negotiable Instruments Act Holiday, Real Time Gross Settlement Holiday, and Banks' Closing of Accounts Holiday all play a role in determining the list of bank holidays.
However, only a few parts of the country celebrate the 13 regional holidays, thus bank employees are unable to celebrate each one separately. Additionally, the 13 holidays do include the same occasion being two holidays as they may be celebrated on different dates in different areas of the country.
Bank customers can still access online banking services through the web portals and mobile applications of their respective banks even while banks are physically closed on bank holidays. However, we have listed below the full list of bank holidays so you can plan your monthly transactions without any trouble.
