Banks will be closed for up to 15 days in April 2023, including weekends, according to the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) holiday calendar. The reason is the nationwide celebration of several festivals and special events.
It is important to note that closings might not be observed simultaneously in all states and might change depending on the holidays celebrated in each state. When scheduling a visit to a branch in April, it is advised to verify the bank's closing schedule to avoid any inconvenience. State-specific bank holidays are also different, and not all financial institutions follow them. These holidays rely on state-specific festivities or announcements of specific events in several states.
Banks in the public and private sectors will be closed for 15 of the 30 days in April. Nonetheless, nationwide access to internet banking services will always be available. It is advised to prepare ahead and finish any transactions or banking needs before or after the closures to guarantee timely and effective banking needs.
