The list of bank holidays is given here for the ease and convenience of bank customers who will be doing banking activities in December. In accordance with RBI regulations, banks will be closed in different states and regions for a total of nine days in December 2022.
The second and fourth Saturdays, as well as all Sundays, are the only days the banks are closed (apart from nine holidays). Holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act, Holiday under the Negotiable Instruments Act and Real Time Gross Settlement Holiday, and Banks' Closing of Accounts are among the holidays that the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has classified into three categories. Banks, including those in the public, private, foreign, cooperative, and regional sectors, will be closed on the holidays that have been announced.
In December 2022, online and net banking services will still be available despite the banks' continued closure.

Monday, December 5- Gujarat Legislative Assembly Elections 2022: Banks will be closed due to elections
Monday, December 12- Pa-Togan Nengminja Sangma: Banks in Meghalaya will be closed
Monday, December 19- Goa Liberation Day: Banks are closed in Goa
Saturday, December 24- Christmas Festival: Banks will be shut in Meghalaya
Monday, December 26- Christmas Celebration/ Losoong/Namsoong: Banks will be closed in Mizoram, Sikkim, and Meghalaya
Thursday, December 29- Guru Gobind Singh Ji Birthday: Banks will be closed in Chandigarh
Friday, December 30- U Kiang Nangbah: Banks will be closed in Chandigarh
Saturday, December 31- New Year’s Eve: Banks will be closed in Mizoram
Bank customers should be aware that different states have different bank holidays.
On Republic Day (January 26), Independence Day (August 15), Gandhi Jayanti (October 2), and Christmas Day (December 25), all banks are closed. On holidays like Diwali, Christmas, Eid, Guru Nanak Jayanthi, and Good Friday, banks are also closed.
