The FAI Annual Seminar 2021 started today at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, India. The theme of the 3-day event is ‘Challenges in Fertilizer and Agriculture’. In view of restriction in gathering due to COVID-19, the FAI Annual Seminar is in hybrid mode this year also.
Many eminent personalities including K.S. Raju, Chairman, Fertiliser Association of India (FAI) participated in the seminar and delivered his speech. He welcomed everyone and thanked government officials for their tireless efforts towards this sector throughout the year in addressing the issues.
He also highlighted that during Covid-times, the government has responded well by enhancing subsidies and thereby resolved the problem of high-cost of fertilizers. He said, “Indian agriculture continues to face a number of challenges, it suffers from low-crop productivity, low-nutrient & water use efficiency, inefficient use of Agri inputs, etc”.
At last, he suggested balanced & integrated nutrient management, water management, an appropriate cropping system, and better agricultural practices in achieving the national goal of sustainable agriculture along with the optimum use of natural resources.
