Baal Aadhar Update! Rule Changes for Making Children’s Aadhar Card

Aadhar Card is one of the most important documents for every citizen in India. Even for the children below the age of 5 years, Aadhar card is made, which is called as Baal Aadhar Card. But, rules for applying for it are much different.

Aadhar Card is one of the most important documents for every citizen in India. Even for the children below the age of 5 years, Aadhar card is made, which is called as Baal Aadhar Card. But, rules for applying for it are much different. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), issuing body of the Aadhar has changed procedure for issuing the Aadhar cards for Children’s. 

Now, parents can apply for their child’s Aadhar card by presenting the birth certificate or slip issued by hospital where the child was born.

Baal Aadhar is granted to children under the age of five, however under the new law, children under the age of five will not be needed to provide fingerprints from their retina and five fingers. Biometrics are no longer required for children under the age of five, according to the UIDAI. Notably, when the child reaches the age of five, the biometric will be necessary. After then, there will be a child Aadhar card, much like the regular Aadhar card.

Things Required for Baal Aadhar Card

To apply for the Baal Aadhar Card, you'll need:

  • Passport

  • PAN card

  • Voter ID Card

  • Driver's License

  • Ration Card.

How to Apply for Baal Aadhar Card?

  • First of all you have to visit the official website of UIDAI.

  • Select option of Aadhar Card registration & fill up the required details of a child.

  • Enter demographic details such as residential address, locality, state etc., & submit the application.

  • Click on the Appointment option to schedule the registration for Aadhar Card.

  • Select nearest Enrollment Centre, schedule your appointment & get the child Aadhar Card on the date issued by it.

Take the Following Things with you:

  • Bring the needed documents to the Enrollment Centre on the scheduled appointment day, such as Proof of Identity (POI), Proof of Address (POA), Proof of Relationship (POR), and Date of Birth (DOB).

  • All of your paperwork will be scrutinized by an officer.

  • If your child is over the age of five, biometric data will be gathered.

  • Biometric data is not necessary for children under the age of five; just demographic data and facial recognition will be required.

Note: 

Parents will receive an acknowledgment number once the process is completed, which they can use to track the progress of their application. After 60 days, they will receive an SMS, and your Baal Aadhar card will arrive within 90 days.
