Ayushman Bharat Diwas is celebrated every year today i.e. on 30th April across the country. The day is important as it provides and promotes affordable medical facilities in the remote parts of the country. To provide employment to the unemployed, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched Ayushman Mitra Job.
Ayushman Mitra:
It is a National Health Protection Scheme which aims to cover over 10 crore poor & vulnerable families around 50 crore beneficiaries. It aims to provide coverage of upto Rs 5 lakh per family per year for secondary & tertiary care hospitalization.
Ayushman Mitra is a central government scheme, where around 10 lakh jobs will be created during the 5 years. Thus, unemployed youth will be given employment. Out of it, one lakh youth will be given job directly in government & private hospitals. The employed youths will get Rs 15,000 per month. Besides, after the implementation of this scheme, there will be opportunities for few more posts such as doctors, nurses, technicians, staff etc. Now, 20,000 hospitals are being added to this scheme across the country. Ayushman Mitra will also get Rs 50 incentive on every beneficiary.
What is Ayushman Bharat Scheme?
Ayushman Bharat Scheme will not only give benefit to the families in terms of good health but will also provide employment opportunities. A total of 1 Lakh vacancy under Ayushman Mitra is to be filled & in the FY 2020, over 20,000 posts will be filled.
Benefits of Ayushman Bharat Scheme:
1.It offers a salary of Rs 15,000 per month and Rs 50 per beneficiary as incentive.
2.It comes under Health Ministry Department and Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship.
3.Under Ayushman Bharat Scheme, the Government had announced 2 major initiatives in health sector. It aims to make path breaking interventions to address health holistically, in primary, secondary & tertiary care systems covering both prevention and health promotion.
4.As per the Finance Minister, the two initiatives under Ayushman Bharat program will help to build a New India 2022 by generating various jobs for women as well.
Ayushman Bharat Scheme Eligibility Criteria:
Eligibility Criteria in rural areas:

Families living in only one room with “kuchcha walls and kuchcha roof” are eligible under this scheme.

Families with no adult members between 16 - 59 age groups and female-headed family with no adult male member in the 16-59 age groups can be a part of this scheme.

SC/ST households & landless households who are getting major part of their income from manual casual labour can come under this scheme.

Families having at least one disabled member and no able-bodied adult member can be a part of it.

Legally-released bonded labourer can also be a part of this central government scheme.

Manual scavenger families & primitive tribal groups are eligible under Ayushman Bharat Scheme.
Eligibility Criteria in urban areas:
Interestingly, eleven occupational categories of workers automatically come under the list as per the Government which includes:
1Rag picker
2.Beggar
3.Street vendor/cobbler/ hawker/ other service provider working on streets.
4.Domestic worker.
5.Sweeper/ sanitation worker / gardener.
6.Home-based worker/ artisan/ handicrafts worker / tailor.
7.Construction worker/ plumber/ mason/ labour/ painter/ welder/ security guard/ coolie and other head-load workers.
8.Transport worker/ driver/ conductor/ helper to drivers and conductors/ cart puller/ rickshaw puller.
9.Electrician/ mechanic/ assembler/ repair worker.
10.Washer-man/ chowkidar.
11.Shop worker/ assistant/ peon in small establishment/ helper/ delivery assistant / attendant/ waiter.
