The National Health Authority (NHA) has initiated the 100 Microsites Project under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) to advance digital health adoption and improve healthcare accessibility. These microsites will serve as clusters of small and medium-scale healthcare facilities, including clinics, nursing homes, hospitals, labs, and pharmacies, offering digital health services to patients.

The project will be implemented across different states and union territories, led by State Mission Directors of Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, with financial resources and overall guidance provided by the National Health Authority.

The main goal of the microsites is to establish a self-contained system in specific regions where the full adoption of ABDM is widespread, ensuring that the entire patient journey is digitalized. States and union territories can work together with development partners and interfacing agencies to set up and oversee these microsites.

All healthcare facilities and professionals, particularly from the private sector, will be registered in ABDM modules like the healthcare professionals registry (HPR) and health facility registry (HFR), and ABDM-enabled applications will be installed within the microsites. Additionally, patients visiting these centers will have their health records linked to their ABHA as part of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission.

The CEO of NHA has envisioned the establishment of 100 microsites throughout the country, aiming to integrate numerous small and medium-scale healthcare providers into the ABDM system. This approach seeks to increase ABDM adoption among private-sector providers and expand its presence nationwide.

The project's primary goal is to create awareness about ABDM among these healthcare providers, urging them to register on ABDM's core registries, use ABDM-certified digital solutions, and link digital health records. By implementing targeted adoption initiatives, the project aims to activate a widespread ABDM adoption ecosystem across the country.
