
Ayush Export Promotion Council (AYUSHEXCIL), in collaboration with the Rashtriya Ayurved Vidyapeeth and the Ministry of AYUSH, hosted an engaging industry interactive session titled “Fostering Growth: SME Schemes and Opportunities for the Ayush Industry” on July 16, 2025. The session brought together key policymakers, industry experts, and stakeholders to explore the potential of MSMEs in advancing the Ayush sector.
The event featured prominent dignitaries including Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of Ayush; S.C.L. Das, Secretary, Ministry of MSME; and Dr. Kousthubha Upadhyaya, Adviser to the Ministry of Ayush. Dr. Upadhyaya opened the session by emphasizing the crucial role that MSMEs play in the growth and innovation of the Ayush industry.
Anuja Bapat, Joint Secretary, Ministry of MSME, delivered an insightful presentation detailing various schemes available to support enterprises working within the Ayush framework. Her address provided practical information on how entrepreneurs can leverage government support to expand their operations.
Adding to the dialogue, Prof. (Dr.) Mahesh Kumar Dadhich, CEO of the National Medicinal Plants Board (NMPB), highlighted the untapped potential of Sea Buckthorn and its relevance in Ayush-based formulations. Meanwhile, Ritu Sain, Investment Commissioner of Chhattisgarh, presented compelling investment opportunities in the state that align with the goals of the Ayush sector.
In their closing remarks, both Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha and S.C.L. Das highlighted the need for higher quality standards and greater scalability. They emphasized that with the right policy support and active stakeholder engagement, MSMEs can be a driving force in making Ayush globally competitive. The session concluded with a shared commitment to promote sustainable growth, innovation, and collaboration across the Ayush value chain.
