Ayush Diksha Center Launched in Bhubaneswar to Boost Ayurvedic Healthcare & Training

The launch of Ayush Diksha Center marks a significant step towards promoting and advancing research in Ayurveda on scientific lines.

The Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways & Ayush, Sarbananda Sonowal, laid the foundation stone for 'Ayush Diksha,' a center dedicated to the development of human resources for Ayush professionals on January 20, 2024. This facility will be established within the premises of the Central Ayurveda Research Institute, Bhubaneswar. Addressing the audience at the event, Minister Sarbananda Sonowal emphasised the development made by the Ayush movement in the last decade.

Minister Sonowal highlighted the shift towards an integrated medicine approach, envisioning a future where the Ayush system coexists with modern medicine. The Ayush Diksha center, he said, will play a pivotal role in enhancing the skills of Ayush professionals, enabling them to provide world-class patient care services.

A Catalyst for Ayush Movement

Minister Sonowal expressed confidence that the Ayush Diksha center will catalyse the Ayush movement, contributing to a global shift towards a healthier and happier life experience. Underlining the inspirational leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he stated that the Ayush movement, rejuvenated under Modi's guidance, aligns with the vision of a Swastha Bharat, promoting a holistic approach to health and well-being.

Integrated Medicinal Approach

The Minister emphasised the impact of Yoga on global health and expressed optimism about other traditional medicines of India gaining prominence. He stressed the integrated medicinal approach, viewing it as a boon for the nation, fostering healing and enriching the quality of life by empowering both physical and mental well-being.

Ayush Diksha Center's Objectives and Features

The Ayush Diksha center aims to offer training programs for Ayush professionals, with a focus on Ayurveda. It seeks collaboration with national institutes to enhance capacity, strengthen human resources, and facilitate research and development. With a budget of Rs 30 crores, the center will boast state-of-the-art facilities, including two auditoriums, 40 modern rooms, VIP suites, a natural library, discussion rooms, a modular kitchen, and a dining lounge.

The event witnessed the presence of Aparajita Sarangi, the Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) for Bhubaneswar, and Prof Vaidya Rabinarayan Acharya, the Director General of CCRAS, among other senior officials, students, and Ayush professionals. The Central Ayurveda Research Institute, Bhubaneswar, is a unit under the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India.
