Australian delegation consisting of 25 members has reached New Delhi, India for establishing long term partnership in agri-business and food industry.Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) has organized the conference on ‘Australia India Food Dialogue' attended by the delegation today.
The dialogue showcased the capabilities of a partnership between the representatives of the Indian agribusiness and food industry and Australian supplier of high-quality food and Australian services, expertise and technologies in agri-business.
India's Food Processing Industry is estimated to be around USD 67 billion out of the USD 180 billion Food Industry and creates more employment opportunities per unit investment than any other sector as per ASSOCHAM report. India is a leading producer of many agricultural products like fruits and vegetables, cereals, pulses etc. India offers a huge potential in terms of rising consumption and as a sourcing hub for the world due to its supply strength.
Mr. Gregory Harvey The Trade Commissioner, of the Australian Trade & Investment Commission, Australian Government introduced the delegation as well as thanked the Indian companies who took a keen interest in the dialogue.
