India's Progress in Food Security
Governor Kataria celebrated India's transformation from a 'food crisis country' to a 'food grain exporting country,' attributing this success to the collective efforts of policymakers, agricultural scientists, and farmers. He urged graduates to tackle pressing issues such as diminishing agricultural land, declining groundwater levels, and soil fertility degradation.
Governor Kataria reiterated the government's commitment to supporting farmers through various schemes and programs. These initiatives aim to enhance financial security, skill development, market access, and promote sustainable farming practices for improved livelihoods.
The convocation witnessed the conferring of degrees upon 1,500 students, symbolizing the culmination of their academic journey and their readiness to contribute to the agricultural sector's growth and sustainability.
