Assam Agriculture Department
Assam's economy is mostly oriented on agriculture, and the state's Agriculture Department is attempting to implement a more sustainable, cost-effective, and scientifically advanced type of agriculture through a range of policies and projects. The Agriculture Department of the state was created in April 1882. However, in 1923, the Departments of Agriculture, Cooperation, and Industries were amalgamate.
Its main purpose is to teach farmers about the implementation of sustainable and commercial agriculture using scientific approaches.
The Department of Agriculture is currently driven by a goal to implement policies and programs aimed at achieving rapid agricultural expansion while making the best use of the state's resources.
