APPSC Recruitment 2025: Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has issued a notification inviting online applications for the direct recruitment of 100 Forest Section Officer (FSO) posts in the A.P. Forest Subordinate Service. The position carries a pay scale of Rs 32,670 to Rs 1,01,970. Eligible candidates can apply online from July 28 to August 17, 2025, via the official website https://psc.ap.gov.in.

APPSC Recruitment 2025: Vacancy Details

APPSC has announced a total of 100 vacancies for Forest Section Officer posts. This includes 30 carried forward vacancies and 70 fresh ones. The notification also includes provisions for Meritorious Sportspersons (MSP) under a 3% horizontal reservation.

Eligibility and Qualifications

Applicants must be Indian citizens between 18 and 30 years of age as of July 1, 2025. Age relaxation is available for SC, ST, BC, and EWS categories.

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Botany, Zoology, Forestry, Horticulture, Agriculture, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, Geology, or Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, or Chemical) from a recognized university.

Relaxations are provided for certain tribal and hill region communities. Additionally, shortlisted candidates must undergo a walking test:

  • 25 km in 4 hours for men

  • 16 km in 4 hours for women

Selection Process

The selection process will consist of:

  1. Screening Test – Objective type (OMR-based)

  2. Main Examination

  3. Physical Tests – Includes walking test and medical exam

  4. Computer Proficiency Test (CPT)

  5. Bonus Marks for NCC certificate holders

  6. Document Verification

The Screening Test is scheduled for September 7, 2025, while the Main Examination date will be notified later.

Application Fee Structure

Candidates are required to pay an application processing fee of Rs 250 and an examination fee of Rs 80. However, the examination fee is exempted for candidates belonging to SC, ST, BC, and Ex-Servicemen categories, as well as Andhra Pradesh residents holding White Ration Cards and unemployed youth, as per applicable government orders. Applicants from other states are not eligible for any fee exemption and must pay the full amount. The fee must be paid online using debit/credit card or net banking through the APPSC payment gateway.

Steps to Apply APPSC Forest Section Officers Posts 2025:

  1. Register via OTPR: Visit https://psc.ap.gov.in and complete the One Time Profile Registration (OTPR) if not already done. A unique User ID will be generated.

  2. Login to Portal: Use the OTPR ID and password to log in.

  3. Fill Application Form: Click on "Online Application Submission" for Notification No. 07/2025 and enter all required details like educational qualifications, local/non-local status, etc.

  4. Submit and Pay Fee: Review the form and click on "Save & Submit" to generate the payment link. Complete the payment through online mode.

  5. Correction Window: Post submission, candidates can make corrections for 7 days after the last date (except for name, fee, and age relaxation fields).

  6. Download and Save: After successful submission, download and save the PDF of the filled application form for future reference.
