The annual conference of Vice Chancellors of Agricultural Universities and Directors of ICAR Universities started on 30th January at A.P Shinde Symposium Hall, NASC Complex, Pusa, New Delhi.
As agricultural education is being increasingly challenged to engage in a new global social contract to serve the needs of society, the annual conference of Vice Chancellors of Agricultural Universities & Directors of ICAR Universities through sharing the global experiences is expected to suggest a framework for agricultural education geared to improve the quality of life and environment, build leadership, increase collaboration and develop new approaches to new challenges and uncommon opportunities. The conference is also expected to evolve in time and space rendering agricultural education responsive to high green growth with high-quality human resource.
The action taken report along with agenda for the three days i.e. from 30, 31, and 1st February 2019 was also circulated among the Vice Chancellors and Directors.
The New Vice Chancellors were also introduced to the delegates and Dr N. C Patel, IAUA presented the brief on how the universities and students including the JRF and SRF and their fee etc enhancement and the milestones achieved were the part of the power point presentation.
Agriculture Universities today are doing significant work for the kitchen garden as well as the new technologies and varieties for the benefit of farmers and to double their income according to the Prime Minister Mission.
Earlier in the morning Dr N S Rathore, DDG, Agricultural Education Division, ICAR welcomed the Vice Chancellors from the allover states of India Agricultural Universities.
Krishi Jagran Team also participated in the annual conference wherein they met a number of Vice Chancellors from State Agriculture Universities including TNAU, Meerut, Gwalior, Tirupati, PAU Ludhiana, Jhansi, Karnataka and Nagpur.
