Andhra Pradesh GIS-2023: State Govt Signs 260 MoUs Worth Rs 1.17 lakh crore

The agriculture sector saw 15 MoUs worth Rs 1,160 crore signed, while the animal husbandry department signed 8 MoUs worth Rs 1,020 crore, creating 3,750 jobs.

The Andhra Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, announced that it signed 352 memorandums of understanding (MoUs) worth Rs 13.05 lakh crore during the two-day Global Investors Summit in Visakhapatnam.

On Saturday, 260 MoUs worth over Rs 1.17 lakh crore were signed in over 13 sectors. According to the state government, 117 MoUs were signed in the tourism sector, the most in the Summit, promising an investment of Rs 22,096 crore and the creation of over 30,000 jobs.

It went on to say that the energy sector saw 40 MoUs worth Rs 8,84,823 crore, which could create nearly 2 lakh jobs. Among the major investors, Reliance signed one MoU with an investment of Rs 5 lakh crore that will create over 1 lakh jobs. According to the statement, HPCL signed one MoU with an investment of Rs 14.3 crore, which will create 1500 jobs.

HCL Technologies signed two MoUs with an investment of Rs 22 crore that will create 5,000 jobs, while Flipkart signed two MoUs with an investment of Rs 20 crore that will create 300 jobs. On Day 1, the government signed 92 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth Rs 11,87,756 crore.

The state's energy department received 35 investment proposals totaling Rs 8.25 lakh crore and promising to create 1.33 lakh jobs. This was followed by the industries and commerce sector, which attracted 41 proposals worth Rs 3.2 lakh crore and will generate 1.79 lakh jobs.

The IT and IT-enabled services department received six proposals totaling Rs 32,944 crore, resulting in the employment of 64,815 people. The tourism department received ten proposals totaling Rs 8,718 crore in investment, creating jobs for 13,400 people in the state.

On Day 1, major investors such as National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) signed three memorandums of understanding (MoUs) worth Rs 2,35,000 crore, with the potential to employ 77,000 people. JSW Group signed six memorandums of understanding, the largest of which is worth Rs 50,632 crore and will employ 9,500 people. Whereas ABC Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with an investment of Rs 1.20 lakh crore, which will provide employment to 7,000 people in Andhra Pradesh.

Aurobindo Group signed five MoUs with an investment of Rs 10,365 crore, which will create 5,250 jobs, whereas Adani Green Energy signed two agreements with an investment of Rs 21,820 crore, which will create 14,000 jobs.

Aditya Birla Group signed two MoUs totaling Rs 9,300 crore with the potential to employ 2,850 people, while Jindal Steel signed one MoU totaling Rs 7,500 crore with the potential to employ 2,500 people.
